Smith & Wesson and Crimson Trace both collaborated to produce the new M&P15T rifle equipped with a Crimson Trace LiNQ system, providing shooters with a complete firearm platform that allows for a wide range of uses.

"The M&P15T rifle was the perfect platform to showcase the award winning LiNQ wireless-operated system," said Crimson Trace President Lane Tobiassen. "Together with Jan Mladek, general manager for the M&P brand, we were able to collaborate and develop a firearm package that showcases the versatility of the LiNQ as well as the ability of the M&P15T rifle to adapt to accessories."

The Smith & Wesson M&P15T rifle is built on the popular AR-15 platform and features a 16-inch barrel constructed from 4140 steel with a 1:8-inch rate of twist. The barrel also features 5R rifling, which is designed to reduce fouling buildup and prevent excessive deformation of the bullet as it travels down the bore. The rifle is chambered in 5.56 NATO and operates on a direct-impingement gas-operated semi-auto system.

Other features of the Smith & Wesson M&P15T rifle include the use of a six-position collapsible stock, as well as the inclusion of a 13-inch free-float M&P handguard, which features the modular M-Lok accessory-attachment system designed by Magpul. The rifle also incldues Magpul MBUS flip-up sights. The M&P15T measures in at an overall length of 32 inches and weighs just over 6.7 pounds.

The Crimson Trace LiNQ light-and-laser system included with the rifle features the company's instinctive-activation grip, which is found in the company's line of handgun lasers. The system turns on automatically once users wrap their hands around the pistol grip of the rifle, ensuring that they don't have to fumble with any pressure pads or switches to operate the system.

The LiNQ operates using a secure, closed wireless system and includes a weaponlight and a green laser, which can be operated together or with a light or laser only. The laser and light also feature strobe modes. The LiNQ comes equipped with windage and elevation adjustments and features a battery life of two hours.

The suggested retail price on the new Smith & Wesson M&P15T equipped with a Crimson Trace LiNQ is $1,499.
