Real Avid recently introduced Gun-Max Gun Oil. Gun-Max is a superior firearms lubricant with a proprietary formulation that consistently outperforms in every important benchmark of firearm protection, including corrosion resistance, long-lasting lubrication under friction, and low-temperature viscosity.

“We wanted to create the most effective and best-performing gun oil on the market,” stated Howard Tripp, Chief Innovation Officer. “As the leader in Gun DIY, we have been very intentional in doing all we can to be the best gun cleaning company in the world. From our tools and kits to this new chemical line, we always hold ourselves to the same high standard. In this case, a gun oil specifically developed for high cycle rate semi-auto firearms that also delivers significantly longer lasting lubrication over a wide temperature range and extreme corrosion protection to protect guns longer.”

Gun-Max is available in 12-ounce aerosol cans and 4-ounce bottles and contains inhibitors that, according to Real Avid, displace more moisture and deliver extended corrosion protection when compared to other leading gun oils and CLP’s. During testing in a harsh and corrosive salt-spray chamber, Gun-Max says their product outperformed all the other products tested when it came to providing longer-lasting corrosion protection. The oil is also chemically engineered with anti-friction additives which bond to metal surfaces in order to perform under friction and provide long-lasting lubrication of moving metal parts.

Gun-Max is chemically formulated to remain fluid at -20 Degrees Fahrenheit and won’t become sludge when the weather turns arctic. Gun-Max Gun Oil also lubricates your gun under sustained high fire rates, heat build-up and mechanical stress, yet still assures a stored gun will operate as properly  when it is needed most.

Gun-Max aerosol cans are equipped with a flip-up two-position spray nozzle that folds down and stores with the can. This first of kind innovate for a gun lubrication system means faster application and more lost straws. The two-position nozzle straw allows for a broad spray application in the down position or a more precise stream application when the straw is used.

The 12-ounce aerosol can of Gun-Max Gun Oil has an MSRP of $12.99, and the 4-ounce liquid bottle has an MSRP of $8.99. More information on these products and other items from Real Avid is available at realavid.com.

High-Tech Handloading

I now keep all my ammunition-creation data on a computer. Sure, I’ll make notes when working up a new load or tweaking an existing one, but ultimately my data is stored digitally. Since my loading room is only steps from my computer, the transition from written to digital data has been easy for me. Now that I’m using the handloading app from RCBS, it’s even easier, and it also makes recreating my favorite loads when I’m at the loading bench more convenient.
