First Look: MTM Case-Gard Tactical Handgun Cases

posted on June 9, 2018
In 2018, while celebrating half a century in business, MTM Case-Gard unveiled an entirely new lineup for owners of multiple handguns. For those heading to the range or in need of a secure storage device, the company's collection of Tactical Handgun Cases is designed to allow for easy transport of a number of handguns, all while keeping them secured and protected from the elements.

Rather than fill a handgun owner's hands with a number of individual pistol cases, the MTM Case-Gard Tactical Handgun Cases are designed as a convenient, one-piece storage unit made from polymer and lined with soft foam inserts designed to protect each handgun in its pocket. Each case in the collection features a nondescript, dark-gray color on the exterior and all incorporate dual latches designed for added security when used in conjunction with padlocks.

When the latched closures are locked down, the handguns stored inside the case are protected from dirt, dust, water and other debris, thanks to a water-resistant O-ring seal that's designed to keep the elements out. In addition to the seal, the cases are also equipped with external carry handles and feature a stackable design that enables secure storage.

The smallest design in the MTM Case-Gard Tactical Handgun Case lineup is the Tactical Pistol Case 3, designed to hold three separate pistols. Each handgun is individually secured with mil-spec foam inserts, and the case also provides a separate storage area for spare magazines, ammunition or other accessories. The external dimensions of the three-gun case are 9.3 inches x 15.3 inches x 9 inches.

Stepping up in size, MTM Case-Card also offers its Tactical Pistol Case 4, made with four individual slots for handgun storage. Next to the handgun-storage space, another separate compartment allows for additional accessories. Two padlock tabs are included, allowing users to secure the case lid to the body and prevent unauthorized access. The four-gun case measures 17.2 inches x 10.7 inches x 9.2 inches.

Finally, the company's Tactical Pistol Case 6 offers secure storage spots for six individual handguns. Next to each handgun slot is space for spare magazines or other similarly sized accessories. The external dimensions of the six-gun case are 19 inches x 15.75 inches x 8 inches. Suggested retail pricing on the handgun containers starts at $34.95 for the three-gun container, jumps to $42.95 for the four-gun option and tops out at $49.95 for the six-gun model.
