JK Armament HUB Booster

JK Armament is now selling the new, highly sought-after JK Armament HUB Piston Mount. This also known as a booster, the Hub Piston Mount works with JK Armament’s popular JK 155 suppressor product line in addition to other makes and models of suppressors.

Most modern semi-automatic pistols regardless of make or model rely on tilting delayed blowback semi-automatic actions to operate. Adding the extra weight of a suppressor and the related hardware can oftentimes interfere with the standard cycling operation of these tilting actions, so the booster’s job is to isolate the suppressor away from the moving and tilting barrel.

The new JK HUB Piston Mount is designed to fit over the taper mount on the JK 155 suppressor or a similar mounting accessory and threads directly into the base of the serialized suppressor tube with its HUB-standard 1⅜x24 thread pitch. This also makes the JK HUB Piston Mount compatible with any other suppressor on the market with HUB threads and enough internal length to accommodate the booster housing. Approximately 1.8 inches of clearance are required for attachment.

JK Armament Piston Mount Kit Specifications:

  • Length: 2.06 inches
  • Diameter: 1.55 outer diameter
  • Piston Thread Size: 0.5 x 28 TPI
  • Suppressor Side Thread Pitch: HUB standard ( 1.375 x 24)
  • Weight: 4.5 ounces
  • Booster Housing Material: 17-4 PH stainless steel
  • Piston Material: 17-4 PH Stainless steel
  • Piston Cap Material: 7075 aluminum

MSRP for the Hub Piston Mount bundle is $225, and more information on this product as well as other accessories and suppressor made by JK Armament is available at jkarmament.com.

MIM Myths

Metal-injection molding (MIM) creates complex, durable and reliable metal parts in things we use daily. Its ability to churn out high volumes at reduced cost endeared it to the firearm industry decades ago. Despite that fact, gun companies we asked about the process were tight lipped.
