Red-dot optics provide a fast, intuitive aiming option for all kinds of firearms, and they've seen tremendous growth as the go-to optic for the tremendously popular AR-15 platform. However, the lack of magnification doesn't allow dot-equipped rifles to reach out to intermediate ranges without some kind of aid. To bridge this gap, many optics manufacturers are developing rail-mounted magnifiers that can be quickly deployed to provide a magnified aiming option used in conjunction with a small dot. Holosun announced the launch of its three-power Flip-to-the-Side Magnifier in 2019: the Holosun HM3X. This standalone magnifier is designed to pair with and augment Holosun's red-dot lineup.

The flip-to-the-side design of the HM3X allows users to toggle between an un-magnified and three-power magnification view through their optic as situational requirements demand, and the clear glass and very generous 2.75-inch eye relief of the HM3X make seeing your target even easier. The durable and corrosion-resistant aluminum body of the HM3X protects the optic from the wear and tear of heavy use, and the IP67 water-and-dust-tight rating combined with a nitrogen gas purge to ensure that the HM3X will be there for you in humid or damp environments.

The HM3X continues the tradition of the rest of the Holosun lineup, offering versatility and value at an attractive price point. The HM3X includes a quick-detach mount which can be rotated during magnifier installation to allow it to flip either to the right or the left. Also, the mount has hard-stop positions that sit straight behind an absolute co-witness height optic (1.4 inches from the top of the rail to the center of the lens) or flipped-to-the-side at 90 degrees. Also included is a spacer that creates compatibility for lower 1/3 co-witness height optics (1.63 inches from the top of the rail to the center of the lens).

The HM3X will have an MSRP of $235.28. The Holosun HM3X Magnifier will be available in 2019 through Holosun's online store at holosun.com and authorized retailers.
