Heritage Tactical Rancher

Heritage Manufacturing has just released the new Tactical Rancher Carbine, a rimfire repeater with a traditional Western straight-wrist stock that uses a single action revolver mechanism to fire and cycle rimfire cartridges.

True to its “tactical” nature, the new Heritage Manufacturing Tactical Rancher is optics ready. The top strap of the receiver has a small section of Picatinny rail in order to mount your choice of optic, and there are no iron sights. The receiver has the capability of accepting both .22 LR or .22 WMR (Magnum) cylinders, making this a multi-caliber platform for two of the most popular .22 caliber rimfire cartridges. Designed to be lightweight and handy, the frame of the gun is made from aluminum and ships without any fore-ends or handguards, but it does come with a black nylon carry sling for use while out in the field.

The ability to shoot both rimfire .22 LR or .22 WMR cartridges gives this carbine a huge advantage, as rimfire ammunition options for both of those calibers are very wide. Like virtually all revolvers, the Tactical Rancher’s action is manually operated, meaning that virtually any type of rimfire round can be fired and cycled through this carbine as there is no semi-automatic mechanism to cycle the rounds. The range of ammo that can be fired from this gun includes the lightest charged cartridges for pest control to the full laser-hot magnum hunting rounds.
