Having the extra shells on-hand and an easy way to mount a light are two must-have upgrades to a defensive shotgun. The new Night Manager shotgun magazine tube extension from Choate Machine and Tool makes it easy to have a few more rounds in the tube when need needed most, and it also includes an indexable accessory mount with Picatinny rail for even more functionality. With this combination add-on, those who count on a home-defense shotgun can address several shortcomings associated with the platform, such as its low magazine capacity and the fact that the two hands required for operation make it difficult to employ a light or other accessory.

The Choate Night Manager magazine tube extension fits a wide variety of pump-action and semi-automatic shotguns, and increases capacity by two extra shotshells, The magazine tube is built with an all-steel construction, and it has an aluminum shroud that is drilled-and-tapped along the bottom and sides for mounting Picatinny rail sections. This unique design allows the user to rotate the shroud in order to orient the attached Picatinny rails where needed and then use an AR-15 castle nut to lock everything down in the desired location.

As the magazine tube can often be short on law-enforcement models, the Night Manager extension mounts accessories on the extension itself, allowing use of the full length of the shotgun’s fore-end for manipulations and grip.

The Night Manager is currently available for the Remington 870, 1100, 11-87 models, as well as the Harrington & Richardson Pardner pumps and Hawk 982 shotguns. The Night Manager is also available for the Mossberg 590, 835, 930, 5500 and the 9200 shotguns.

MSRP on the Night Manager is $92.77, and it comes complete with everything needed to mount the extension, including a 3-slot section of compatible Picatinny rail, fasteners, magazine tube follower and spring. More information on the Night Manager shotgun tube extension and rail mount is available at Choate’s website: riflestock.com.
