CD Defense Hydra 902 Shotgun

Charles Daly is introducing the new Hydra 902, a semi-automatic combination shotgun that ships with one serialized upper receiver and both a bullpup lower receiver as well as an AR-style lower receiver. This unique combination gives shooters the ability to convert between a bullpup pattern shotgun and a conventional magazine-fed shotgun configuration.

A bullpup configuration firearm has the receiver and the magazine behind the trigger and grip, while a standard configuration firearm has those parts either in parallel or forward of the trigger and grip. The biggest advantage of a bullpup firearm is a shorter overall length, which can be important in close quarters. The disadvantages include reduced trigger feel and more trigger effort due to the longer connection between the trigger group and the receiver, as well as more awkward magazine changes.

The CD Defense Hydra 902 Bullpup/AR Combo Shotgun features an upper chambered for 3-inc- long, 12-gauge shotgun ammunition. The barrel is 18.7 inches long and is covered by an aluminum barrel shroud, and there are top and bottom Picatinny rails on the upper which allow for mounting optics and accessories. In addition to this, there is factory-included angled fore grip on the lower rail. The Hydra 902 uses Beretta/Benelli Mobil choke threads and includes 3 choke tubes: Improved cylinder, Modified and Full. Both lowers are equipped with an adjustable comb and a generous rubber recoil pad. The Hydra includes adjustable flip up sights along with two five-round magazines.
