Beretta 92x Performance Carry Optics

Beretta USA is launching the 92X Performance Carry Optics, a new competition-oriented variant of its popular, all-steel, double-action Model 92 pistol. This latest addition to the 92X Performance family comes with an optics-ready slide and optic plates. While this particular pistol is legal for the USPSA Carry Optics division, the pistol is also competitive for the Production and Limited Minor division, as long as it does not have a red dot electronic sight and/or the correct size magazines.

The Beretta 92X Performance stands out from other Beretta 92 versions as it is currently the only model that is built for match shooting right out of the box, with a feature set any competitive shooter would appreciate.

To begin with, it has a pair of front and rear sights that are ideal for competition use. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation and has serrations to cut down on glare. The notch is generous to help with target acquisition. The front sight has a fiber optic insert that also aids in rapid sight acquisition. The 92X Performance CO comes with a DLC coated Xtreme-S match trigger which is lighter and smoother than on a standard model.

Unlike most Beretta Model 92s, the 92X Performance CO also has ambidextrous frame-mounted thumb safeties that work much like 1911 safeties and can be carried cocked and locked. Also unlike most Model 92 pistols, it features an all-steel frame and slide construction. The 92X Performance CO weighs approximate one additional pound compared to a normal Beretta, but the weight helps shooters absorb any extra recoil as they transition between target arrays. The 92XP has a Vertec style gun, with a frame that has an overall slimmer grip. The dustcover on these pistols also has a section of Picatinny rail and can accept standard handgun accessories.

This new carry optics focused Beretta 92X Performance version retails with an MSRP of $1,799. For any additional information about this pistol or for assistance in finding dealers, please visit Beretta USA’s website at beretta.com.
