Bear Ops Rancor

Bear And Son Cutlery has just publicly launched the new Bear Ops Mini Rancor IX Slide Lock Flipper Knife. This new tactical folding knife has a Zytel handle and a 2.3-inch drop point blade that is made from precision engineered D2 Tool Steel and has a black finish. Instead of the traditional liner lock or frame lock for the blade, the new Bear Ops Mini Rancor IX Slide Lock Flipper knife uses a “flipping mechanism” to lock the blade in place. This mechanism also makes it extremely easy to flip the knife in order to open it quickly and swiftly. In addition to the flipping mechanism, the blade is also equipped with thumb studs like most other pocketknives. The Bear Ops Mini Rancor IX’s 2.3-inch drop point blade is useful for a wide variety of cutting tasks and the design also incorporates a choil for added safety. Choils are concave cut outs that help prevent fingers from accidentally sliding onto the keen edge.

D2 Tool Steel is a high carbon, high chromium steel ideal for hard use applications that require extreme resistance to abrasion and wear. Zytel is a highly impact and abrasion resistant thermoplastic polymer which is also extremely lightweight and is oftentimes used in knifemaking for its strength, weight and durability.
