The KeyMod system was designed as a way of streamlining the attachment of accessories to the handguard of AR-15-pattern rifles. While Picatinny rails have been the standard for a long while, they necessitate covers and other such devices when not in use, adding unnecessary bulk and heft to a rifle.

ErgoGrip's KeyMod 2-Piece Handguard for carbine-length gas systems gives 6 inches of Picatinny rail on top for optics and seven KeyMod slots at the 3-, 6- and 9-o'clock positions. It's a drop-in replacement for the standard handguard, and at 5.6 ounces is lighter than the standard MilSpec handguards it replaces. The KeyMod handguard is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and hard-coat anodized in matte black.

Handguards are also available in OD green and dark earth should your favorite AR-15-type rifle require additional coloration.

MSRP: $176.47. Comes with one rubber rail protector for the top rail.
