Using bullets with innovative Split-Core Technology, the rounds are designed to deposit massive energy and rapidly expand without over-penetration. Both loads are ideal for close encounters common to personal defense scenarios and are designed for use in AR/MSR-style rifles.

"Winchester offers the most comprehensive line up of innovative ammunition for personal defense … bottom line," said Brett Flaugher, Winchester Ammunition vice president of marketing and sales. "The Segmenting Slug brings new innovation to personal defense shotgun loads and the Split Core Technology in the PDX1 Defender centerfire rifle round is revolutionary."
