Cor-Bon loads a lighter 160-grain version of this bullet in their .45 ACP DPX ammunition line. From a 5-inch barrel the 185-grain bullet averaged 1,030 fps. The load was very accurate when tested in a custom LST Gaboon 1911, averaging 1.61 inches for three, five-shot groups. Typical of Barnes X type bullets, the TAC XP retained all of its weight after expanding to 1.8-times it original diameter.
