In his book "Street Stoppers," Evan Marshall predicts this load will have a one-shot stop percentage of 89. Make of his opinion what you will, this load has all the characteristics of a solid performer, delivering expansion 1.7 times its original diameter and penetrating to 13 inches in ordnance gelatin. Gold Dot bullets have an untarnished reputation when it comes to defeating intermediate barriers. If that is one of your concerns this should be a good pick for a .40 S&W handgun, especially if you like high velocity.
