CMMG has added Hornady’s new 6 mm ARC (Advanced Rifle Cartridge) to its Resolute and Endeavor families of rifles. The novel 6 mm ARC cartridge was designed and engineered for accuracy and performance in the versatile AR-15 platform, and the ballistic performance of this new round makes it ideal for precision shooting, hunting, military/law enforcement and recreational shooting.

The Hornady 6 mm ARC is a short-action cartridge designed to push the limits of the AR-15 platform. Based on the 6.5 Grendel cartridge case, the 6 mm ARC was designed to achieve comparable ballistics to .308 Win. in an AR-10 style gun, while taking advantage of the lighter weight of the AR-15 platform.

One advantage of the new round is the ability to use heavier 6 mm projectiles. The 6 mm ARC will be available in a 108-grain ELD Match round for shooters and hunters who need to reach further distances. The 108-grain ELD round delivers a muzzle velocity of 2,750 fps, while the 103-grain ELD-X precision hunter ammunition comes in at 2,800 fps. Both of these rounds deliver less felt recoil, providing shooters and hunters with the ability to stay on target after making quicker follow-up shots with their AR-15s.

CMMG’s 100, 200 and 300 Series come with a rifle-length gas system, along with a 16-inch barrel in the Resolute series and 20-inch barrel in the Endeavor line, which allows for the rifles to have less felt recoil and lower extraction force, along with reducing wear and tear.

Resolute rifles will have MSRPs ranging from $1,049.95 to $1,649.95 and Endeavor rifles will have MSRPs ranging from $1,049.95 to $1,799.95. Both the Resolute and Endeavor rifles ship with one 10-round detachable-box magazine.
