Precision rifle shooters customize their rifles for optimum performance, and the chassis that holds the action and barrel is a vital part of the customization process. Rival Arms is recognized for their premium aftermarket handgun and rifle components, and now they are expanding their offering of drop-in chassis systems for the Remington 700 rifle with the new R-700 Precision Chassis.

The R-700 chassis is designed to accept all variants of the Remington 700 short-action barreled action. The chassis is CNC-machined from aluminum billet and is available in three finishes: Type III hardcoat anodized matte black; KG GunKote FDE; and KG GunKote Satin Gray finish.

Like the R-22 chassis that Rival Arms developed earlier this year for the Ruger 10/22 barreled action, the R-700 is designed to accept grips and buffer tube style buttstocks for AR-15 pattern rifles. This includes the Rival Arms ST-3X Precision Stock or any AR-15 stock that uses a 1-3/16 inches 16 Mil-Spec buffer tube. This versatility allows builders to add any buttstock that suits their specific needs, while also accommodating most A2 pattern pistol grips.

The precision inletting of the R-700 means that it is a drop-in fit for factory Remington 700 short-action barreled actions and aftermarket precision actions. The forend/barrel channel allows for a free floating barrel with all factory barrel contours and with barrels up to one inch in diameter. Fourteen machined M-Lok slots allow builders to install a broad range of readily available accessory mounts to adapt the chassis to any mission. The chassis also comes tapped with a sling swivel stud and has an ergonomic design with a scalloped forend for a positive grip when shooting without a rest.

MSRP for the new Rival Arms R-700 chassis is $381.99. More information on this product and other gear from Rival Arms is rival-arms.com
