Kimber America is known for making a wide variety of high-quality 1911-style pistols, and now the company is rolling out another addition to its already impressive line of guns: the RAPIDE (Black Ice).

The Kimber RAPIDE (Black Ice) is chambered in .45 ACP, 9 mm and 10 mm and boasts performance-enhancing features such as stepped cocking serrations and slide lightening cuts for faster lock time, It also has a striking, two-tone KimPro finish and a DLC-coated barrel for extreme durability. Finishing off all these top-grade items are a flush-fit magwell, a match-grade trigger that breaks crisply at 4-5 pounds and Tru-Glo TFX Pro Day Night Sights for a clear sight picture in almost any lighting condition.

The new-for-2020 RAPIDE (Black Ice) is comes with Kimber Stiplex front-strap stippling, as well as black G10 grips for an extra-confident grip. The pistol is finished from the factory with KimPro II coating for additional resistance to chemicals, moisture, salt and UV light, and it will ship with one 8-round Tac Magazine.

All these features are combined with other enhanced features that are typical to Kimber 1911 Custom Platform pistols. The barrel is machined to critical, match-grade dimensions from stainless steel, and then the barrel and chamber are hand-fitted and cut to critical, match-grade dimensions. This attention to detail allows each pistol to realize its true accuracy potential. A lowered and flared ejection port lets ejecting brass easily clear the slide and a crisp, match-grade trigger increases confidence and accuracy. A Commander-style hammer helps prevents the pistol from snagging on your clothing.

The pricing on the RAPIDE (Black Ice) is $1,490 for the .45 ACP version and $1,510 for both the 9 mm and 10 mm models. More information on the RAPIDE (Black Ice) 1911 pistol and other Kimber products is available at kimberamerica.com.
