After the much talked-about launch of the company's original LifeCard, single-shot pistol chambered in .22 LR, Trailblazer Firearms expanded its product lineup in 2019 with the launch of a new LifeCard pistol model in the more-powerful .22 WMR.

"It took us seven years to bring the initial LifeCard concept to market," said Aaron Voigt, founder and president of Trailblazer Firearms. "We are in no hurry to create product that does not pass our rigorous testing or have the demand in the marketplace. The .22 Mag. passed both criteria, and we are proud to add this new model to our LifeCard line."

The company's original LifeCard, introduced in late 2017 and reviewed here by Shooting Illustrated, was designed as a utility tool that folded up into a package that took up the same amount of storage space as a credit card, albeit with an increased width. In fact, the design is small enough to fit inside the fifth pocket of a standard pair of jeans, an initial design aim by the company. Though possible as an EDC tool, company designers also envisioned the LifeCard as an easily carried, utilitarian firearm that could easily dispatch pest animals when needed.

The .22 LR model of the LifeCard wildly exceeded first-year sales projections, though, and consumers asked the company for a more-powerful model of the gun in .22 WMR. The new LifeCard model features the same dimensions as the original, but the gun can now fire more-powerful .22 Mag. ammunition.

Each Trailblazer Firearms LifeCard in .22 WMR features a single-action trigger paired with the single-shot mechanism. A tip-up barrel allows users to load one round at a time, and the gun must be manually cocked for each shot. While the barrel is made from steel, most of the gun is crafted from aluminum, leading to a weight of just 7 ounces for the whole platform. The gun measures 3.375 inches long, 2.125 inches high and 0.5 inch thick. Storage space in the handle allows users to stash three extra rounds on board.

The suggested retail price on the .22 WMR LifeCard is $399.
