Many modern-day handguns are developed for use in conjunction with a growing number of reflex optics on the market, all built to handle the increased Gs associated with the cycling of a handgun slide and providing an easily seen aiming point that speeds up target acquisition. One of the latest micro red-dot sights out in 2018 is the new UTG 4-MOA Reflex Micro Dot from Leapers, the company's smallest red-dot sight ever made.

Based on the company's TS design, the Reflex Micro Dot is built on a chassis machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and treated with a black-anodized finish that provides increased protection against abrasions and the elements. The aluminum housing encloses a 23x18 mm lens that provides a wide field-of-view, enabling users to quickly and easily get on target. Paired with the dot sight is a versatile base compatible with both Glock MOS and Smith & Wesson M&P C.O.R.E. mounting plates. This setup allows the sight to install onto any pistol slide compatible with these two popular footprints.

For other platforms, UTG includes a standard Picatinny plate that attaches to the underside of the Reflex Micro Dot sight and enables the unit to be mounted on any standard Picatinny optics rail, allowing the sight to be used on rifles and shotguns as well as handguns. Additional mounting options are also available for a select number of handguns that have no slot machined for standard optic mounting plates. For all double-stack Glock, SIG Sauer P-Series and Smith & Wesson guns, UTG offers its RDM mounting plates. These mounting options slide into standard slide dovetails designed for iron sights, providing a mounting base for the Reflex Micro Dot sight. A co-witness mount is also available.

Each UTG 4-MOA Reflex Micro Dot sight is powered by a single CR2032 battery, providing a total run time of 240 hours on its highest setting. Six different brightness settings are available, giving users the ability to adjust the aiming dot for ambient lighting conditions. The optic also includes a memory-recall feature, which automatically turns the optic onto the last brightness setting chosen by the user. The suggested retail price on the Reflex Micro Dot Sight is $89.97, and rear-sight dovetail plates for Glock, SIG Sauer and Smith & Wesson guns retail for $17.97 each.
