Vertx added new product options to its concealed-carry wear lineup in 2018 with the introduction of its new Weapon Guard concealed-carry shirts, including the company's Guardian shirt and the Assessor polo, both built with features that make carry and concealment more comfortable than ever.
“Abrasion to the skin is a real problem for concealed carriers, and wearing additional layers is not always an option,” Vertx Brand Manager Justin Roberts said. “Our line of Weapon Guard shirts was designed in collaboration with end-users to develop a solution to this common problem.”
Both of the new shirts incorporate the company's all-new Weapon Guard lining, which is designed to protect against skin irritation experienced by carrying without an undershirt. The unique base layer uses Vertx's trademarked VaporCore technology that reacts to the body temperature of the wearer, allowing it to manage the humidity and temperature level under the shirt for the most comfortable user experience. The system is designed to maintain a relative temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 37.5 percent.
In addition to its temperature-regulating ability, the Vertx Weapon Guard concealed-carry shirts are also built with gusseted underarms, which are specifically designed to allow for a maximum range of movement while clearing concealment and drawing a personal-defense firearm from under the shirt.
The Vertx Guardian shirt is a button-front design that incorporates this unique Weapon Guard compression layer from beneath the chest to the waist of the wearer. The design incorporates snap-close buttons at the bottom of the shirt that allow for easy, immediate access to a concealed firearm. Other unique features of the Guarding include hidden "plackets" at the sides of the shirt that provide extra space for everyday-carry essentials or for extra weights that prevent the shirt from riding up and exposing a concealed firearm.
In addition to the Guardian, Vertx also offers its Assessor polo shirt with the Weapon Guard feature. The added benefit with the polo is the longer semi-compression layer that is designed to be tucked inside the pants while protecting users against the skin abrasion caused by a holstered firearm.
The Vertx Assessor and Guardian Weapon Guard concealed-carry shirts are offered in multiple colors and configurations, with the Assessor available in three different colors and the Guardian offered in two plaid and two solid color options, both in short-sleeve and long-sleeve variants.
