Designed for high output and added flexibility, the new Streamlight ProTac HPL USB flashlight is built for daily use, thanks to a number of elements that enable users to keep their light powered and ready for use at any time.

“The ProTac HPL USB throws its beam far out in the distance while casting plenty of peripheral light along the way,” Streamlight Vice President of Sales and Marketing Michael F. Dineen said. “Tactical, professional and consumer users can use it to flood a dark alley, job site or outdoor path with light, while also seeing objects at long distances. And, for even greater versatility, users either can charge the light on the go, or insert cell batteries when a charging source is not available.”

This versatility and easy charging on the go is provided through the inclusion of a protected USB charging port located on the housing of the light body. The light is also powered with the company's 18650 lithium-ion rechargeable battery, built with an included recharging port that allows batteries to be charged from laptops, battery packs or any USB wall charger. For those situations where charging a battery isn't an option, the Streamlight ProTac HPL USB can also operate using two CR123A lithium batteries.

One of the standout design elements of the upgraded ProTac light is the flood beam produced by the enhanced LED lighting. The light is powered through a tailcap switch, which provides high, medium, low and strobe modes. At its highest setting, the light produces 1,000 lumens and 35,000 candela in a beam that reaches out to 374 meters. Battery life ranges from 1.5 hours on the light's highest setting to 20 hours on low.

In addition to the switchable modes, the Streamlight ProTac HPL USB also uses the company's TEN-TAP programming system, enabling owners to choose between three different pre-programmed presentation settings for the different output modes. Durability is also assured, since the light body is machined from 6000 series aircraft-grade aluminum, treated with an anodized finish, certified IPX4 water-resistant and rated for impact resistance from a drop of two meters. The overall length of the light measures 7.08 inches, and the total weight is 9.24 ounces.

The suggested retail price on the Streamlight ProTac HPL USB starts at $180.
