While suppressors are great tools designed to protect against hearing loss in shooter and hunters, one unfortunate effect of multiple shots fired through such devices is the excessive heat buildup. The new-for-2018 Magpul Suppressor Cover is designed to protect users from getting burned by the surface of suppressors.

The Magpul Suppressor Cover is the first product of its design, having the ability to withstand the incredible temperatures that are produced by large amounts of semi-automatic and full-automatic fire. Not only can it remain undamaged by this extreme heat, the surface of the cover also remains cool enough to protect owners from being burned or otherwise hurt by these hot cans.

The cover is made from a combination of heat-resistant polymer and a raised stainless-steel heat shield. The heat shield attaches directly to the surface of the user's suppressor through the use of steel clamps, while the polymer is laid atop the shield. This arrangement means that the surface of the polymer cover remains more than 1,000 degrees cooler than the surface of the suppressor to which it is attached.

Not only does this cover remain cooler than the suppressor, the raised heat-shield design also permits large amounts of air to flow over the surface of the can, enabling it to cool faster than it otherwise would as a stand-alone unit. No longer do suppressor owners have to wait patiently after a long day at the range before packing their gear up.

Another added benefit of the Magpul Suppressor Cover is the fact that this cover eliminates the mirage created by a hot suppressor. This mirage can obscure the sight picture of the shooter, making it difficult or impossible to put rounds on target accurately. For military and law-enforcement applications, the suppressor cover also reduces the heat signature of the suppressor, enabling them to operate more discreetly with a hot can.

The suppressor cover is completely made in the USA and designed to fit cans measuring 1.5 inches in diameter and 5.5 inches in length. Other sizes will be available as the product line develops. Available colors for the Magpul Suppressor Cover are black and medium coyote tan, and the suggested retail price is $99.95.
