Under the Bear & Son Cutlery umbrella, the Bear Edge brand continues to develop a range of folding knives designed to suit all kinds of everyday-carry kits. These options range from camouflage-colored utility blades purpose-built for hunting to sleek, lightweight, durable knives that slide easily into a pocket for a go-to, utilitarian tool you can use everyday. The latest in the company's lineup is the new Model 61106 Sideliner.

Constructed with an all-black, matte, unassuming design, the Model 61106 is built as a slim, streamlined carry blade that won't snag while drawing from a pocket and can be carried with little-to-no notice, thanks to its lightweight, discreet profile. The taper-ground knife blade is constructed from 440 stainless steel, making it durable and corrosion-resistant enough to be counted on for long-term EDC. An all-black coating protects the metal from dirt and damage, and jimping on the top of the blade, near the fulcrum point of the folder, provides added texture for improved control.

Surrounding the clip-point blade is a solid-metal frame, attached to which are two black, Zytel handles that feature texturing and an ergonomic profile that improves grip and control during use. An assisted-opening mechanism aids in deploying the knife fully, and the blade is securely locked into place with the sideliner lock located inside the frame. When deployed, the overall length of the Model 61106 is 7 7/8 inches long, with a blade length of 3.5 inches. When closed, the knife measures just 4.5 inches in overall length. The total weight of the knife is 3.3 ounces.

Aiding in everyday carry is an included metal pocket-carry clip, allowing users to carry the knife tip-up, a preferred method of blade carry due to the ability of users to rapidly deploy the knife from the pocket when needed. The clip is reversible, providing dependable tip-up carry in either pocket for left- and right-handed use. Each Bear Edge Model 61106 is built in the company's Jacksonville, AL facility. The suggested retail price on the knife is $39.99.
