Walther Arms has discovered that, under certain conditions, it is possible for certain PPS M2 pistols to fire when dropped and is voluntarily initiating a recall to protect the safety of its customers.  The handguns affected by the recall were shipped before Aug. 1, 2017, and fall within the following serial number ranges: AN3020 - AN9999 AR0000 - AR9999; AS0000 - AS9999 AO0000 - AO9999; AT0000 - AT9999 AP0000 - AP9999; AU0000 - AU7502 AQ0000 - AQ9999.

Do not load or fire your Walther PPS M2 pistol if you own one between any of the above serial number ranges. Contact Walther Arms immediately to arrange to have the pistol upgraded free of charge, using the following steps.

You can complete the online form, or e-mail [email protected].  The handgun’s return for modification can also be initiated by calling (866) 503-3389 Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central time, or by writing Walther Arms, 7700 Chad Colley Boulevard, Fort Smith, AR 72916. The PPS M2 serial number—which is located on the right side of the pistol—is required on forms, correspondence and will be required during initial phone calls.

After the company has been contacted and the pistol confirmed as subject to the recall, a prepaid overnight shipping label with instructions will be mailed or e-mailed to return the unloaded pistol, free of charge. Owners who complete the online form can print the prepaid overnight shipping label with instructions directly from the website.

PPS M2 pistols subject to the recalls will be upgraded and returned free of charge. Walther Arms is making every effort to complete the upgrade and return affected pistols as soon as possible. Handguns that have received the modification will have a dot milled into the backside of the magazine opening.
