Capitalizing on the current Creedmoor hotness, Savage Arms announced an expansion of its MSR-10 lineup with the launch of the all-new MSR-10 Long Range chambered in the 6 mm Creedmoor. Loaded with all the added features found in the company's short-action MSRs, the 6 mm Creedmoor provides consumers with a faster, flatter-shooting round perfect for use in increasingly popular long-range shooting competitions.

Like the company's other MSR-10 Long Range rifles, which are also available in .308 Win. and 6.5 Creedmoor, the latest model is built on the company's compact receiver and features a non-reciprocating charging handle located on the left side of the upper receiver. This feature allows shooters to more-easily charge a round from the magazine without interference from the ocular bell of a mounted optic, which tends to sit just above the charging handle in its traditional spot at the rear of the upper-receiver's optics rail.

On the gun, consumers will find a two-stage target trigger and Savage's own barrel, complete with 5R rifling and a Melonite finish for improved lubricity and corrosion-resistance. On the contact surfaces of the trigger assembly, Savage included a special nickel-boron treatment that offers a smoother overall feel with less friction and grittiness than other mil-spec designs. Overall trigger-pull weight measures in between 2.5 to 4 pounds.

The rifle's equipped with a Magpul MRS Gen3 stock, allowing individual shooters to fine-tune length of pull and comb height to fit their body, while a Blackhawk KNOXX pistol grip provides an ergonomic, hand-filling grip for improved long-range accuracy. A free-float handguard offers a range of M-Lok attachment slots around its circumference, and a continuous Picatinny top rail provides extra space for optics and night-vision equipment. A small cutout allows owners to access the adjustable gas block to better-control gas flow for optimized cycling.

Barrel length on the Savage Arms MSR-10 Long Range in 6 mm Creedmoor measures 22.5 inches, featuring a twist rate of 1:7.5 inches. The overall length of the gun measures between 43.13 and 45.13 inches. The total weight of the rifle, without optic, is 9.5 pounds, thanks in part due to the straight fluting on the barrel surface that also offers enhanced surface area for greater cooling during extended strings of fire. Each gun ships with a 10-round magazine, and the rifle's suggested retail price is $2,284.
