Aftermarket support for the new Glock Gen 5 pistol lineup continues to grow, with Talon Grips adding new grip options for the guns in its product lineup.

“The absence of finger grooves on the Gen5 Glock resulted in a Talon Grip design that provides comprehensive grip area coverage in a very durable design” said Mike Morris, president of Talon Grips.“Our in-house design, prototyping, production and product testing enabled us to move quickly and efficiently from concept to final product. Truly, our entire team contributed in the development of this grip.”

Talon Grips developed its first aftermarket handgun-grip enhancement more than eight years ago for the Glock 23, and the company continues to improve its offerings to fit a wide variety of popular handgun designs on the market, ensuring that owners have the capability to enhance the look and feel of their favorite pistol without permanently modifying the gun.

The Talon Grips offered for the Glock Gen 5 pistols are available in two different textures: rubber and granulate. The granulate option offers a sandpaper-style finish that's popular with competitive shooters and those who carry their guns outside the waistband. The rubber texture still provides a secure grip for the user without irritating the skin when carried under clothing inside the waistband.

The design works in conjunction with the different backstraps offered by Glock with its Gen 5 pistols. Users must find the backstrap that fits their hand the best and then choose the specific Talon grip option that works with that design. This ensures that Glock Gen 5 pistol owners have a tailor-made grip enhancement that fits perfectly on their firearm.

The grip itself wraps around the entirety of the gun, ensuring that both side panels are completely covered, as well as the area located above the thumb rest located on the frame. The grips also provide substantial coverage on the backstrap of the pistol, as well as the front strap located under the trigger guard. All Talon Glock grips feature a cutout for the Glock badge located on the left of the grip frame.

To install Talon grips, customers must have access to a hair dryer or a heat gun, and proper installation takes only minutes. The grips cannot be damaged by most cleaning solutions, but the company recommends that owners avoid using aerosol-based solvents.

All aftermarket Talon grips are completely made in the USA. The suggested retail price for Glock G17 Gen 5 Talon grips is $17.99.
