American Tactical announced the introduction of its new Road Agent, a 12-gauge side-by-side shotgun that is part of the company's well-known Cavalry line of shotguns.

The company took the classic coach-gun design and updated it with a few modern features in order to improve upon safety and functionality. One such improvement is the gun's decocker system, a patent-pending design that is the first ever seen on a shotgun with external hammers.

When the American Tactical Road Agent shotgun is broken open to remove spent shells and/or load new rounds, the two hammers are automatically cocked, and the company's patent-pending system places the gun on safe. Once the gun is loaded, a decocking lever can be used to drop both hammers without firing the gun, placing the gun in a safe-to-carry position. Once the gun is ready to shoot, users can manually cock the gun or break the gun open to automatically cock the hammers.

The American Tactical Road Agent shotgun features two carbon-steel barrels that measure 18.5 inches long. The receiver is machined from aluminum and features a hard-anodized black finish, along with scroll engravings. The stock and fore-end are shaped from Turkish walnut and are hand-fitted and finished to each gun for an attractive finish that is reminiscent of the designs of classic coach guns.

The gun features double triggers that are linked individually to each barrel, so users can pull both triggers simultaneously to launch a double-barrel blast of 12-gauge shot, if so desired. The overall length of the gun is 35.4 inches, and the length of pull from the front trigger measures 15.5 inches. From the rear trigger, length of pull is 14.75 inches.

The overall weight of the American Tactical Road Agent shotgun is 5.3 pounds. The shotgun features a traditional front-bead sight for easy and intuitive aiming. The suggested retail price on the gun is $599.95.
