Wilson Combat announced the launch of its new Carry Comp Pro 1911 model, which is designed to provide owners with improved control over their firearm through the use of the company's Accu-Comp.

The Wilson Combat Accu-Comp was renowned in the 1980s for its wins in practical-pistol competitions, where competitors used the technology to reduce muzzle flip and recoil, ensuring that they could get back on target quicker and maintain more control over their firearm. Now, the company is incorporating that same technology into its carry-pistol line.

The new Carry Comp Pro 1911 features a number of enhancements that contribute toward making a carry pistol that provides an unequaled level of bulk and control, according to the company. The gun uses a 4-inch match-grade barrel, along with a 0.5-inch muzzle extension that incorporates the compensator port, which features advanced engineering for the best possible control over muzzle flip.

The pistol measures in at an overall length of 8.1 inches, with a height of 5.6 inches and a width of 1.3 inches. The sight radius measures 5.7 inches overall. The Carry Comp Pro weighs in at 40.54 ounces unloaded and features a magazine capacity of 8 rounds in the .45 ACP model. The gun is available in three calibers: .45 ACP, 9 mm and .38 Super.

As with all Wilson Combat guns, the Carry Comp Pro features a number of highlights that make it an ideal option for concealed carry. The pistol uses the company's Professional Size carbon-steel frame and incorporates 30-LPI checkering on the front strap, as well as a contoured magazine well and a Bullet Proof beavertail grip safety and thumb safety. The company also uses a 3.5-4.5-pound trigger using the Wilson Combat Long Three-Hole trigger.

At the top of the gun is a 4-inch carbon-steel slide with rear slide serrations, as well as the match-grade, hand-fit barrel. The slide also uses the company's Battlesight, along with a fiber-optic front sight. Other customization options are also available for those wishing to incorporate other features.

The Wilson Combat Carry Comp Pro 1911 ships with an accuracy guarantee of 1.5 inches at 25 yards. The suggested retail price for the .45 ACP model is $3,200, while the 9 mm and .38 Super models retail at a suggested price of $3,310.
