For shooters looking to improve their skills at home, the SIRT Training Pistol from Next Level Training gives gun owners a unique opportunity to complement their time on the range.

The Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger Training Pistol incorporates a number of features designed to help shooter build different aspects of the shooting discipline while off the range.

The first noticeable feature about the gun is its size, weight and functionality. The pistol features a similar weight, balance and ergonomics as a genuine Smith & Wesson M&P pistol, down to including a functional accessory rail on the front of the frame. This allows owners to practice holster draws without worrying about using a live gun in the home.

The SIRT Training Pistol also features a fully-functional training magazine that drops free using a magazine release similar to the release found on an M&P pistol. The pistol comes with one training magazine that is weighted similarly to a loaded pistol magazine, and the company sells additional magazines for an added cost, ensuring that users can have a chance to practice their reloads for the range.

One of the revolutionary aspects of the SIRT training pistol centers upon the trigger. The gun features a trigger that feels remarkably similar to the trigger found in the original guns, and the pistol features a trigger-adjustment tool that allows for fine-tuning.

The trigger actuates two lasers in the front of the gun. The first laser activates during the start of the trigger pull, allowing shooters to track their movements as they squeeze the trigger to the break. Once the trigger breaks, a green laser activates to simulate a fired shot, showing shooters where their fired round would have ended up with their final pull. The trigger also features a reset, which keeps the red laser on target but deactivates the green laser until the trigger breaks again.

The SIRT Training Pistol comes in two models: one to simulate the functional features of the Smith & Wesson M&P and one to simulate a Glock G17/G22. The suggested retail price on the training pistol is $339.
