The newest light in the Streamlight lineup is the Keymate USB, a rechargeable, compact area light shaped like a key that is designed to attach easily to any keyring or zipper pull to provide emergency lighting when necessary.

"Whether you need it to light up a dark basement, when you go for a nighttime jog or to provide emergency lighting during a power outage, the KeyMate USB offers you peace of mind by providing light when and where you need it," said Streamlight Vice President of Sales and Marketing Michael F. Dineen.

The Keymate USB features a metal body that measures 2.9 inches wide, 1.08 inches thick and weighs just 0.5 ounces. There are three separate modes: a 35-lumen high setting, a 16-lumen low setting and a strobe setting that flashes at 35 lumens. The total runtime on high is one hour, while low and strobe settings have a battery life of two hours.

The light runs off a lithium power cell and uses red and green lights to alert the user to its charging status. Total charge time is two to three hours, depending on the charge source. The unit is IPX4 rated for resistance to weather and is impact-resistant up to one meter.

The suggested retail price on the new Streamlight Keymate is $28.
