Daniel Defense rolled out its latest short-barreled rifle with the introduction of the DDM4V7S.

The new V7S is available only in 5.56 NATO and features a cold-hammer-forged, government-profile, 11.5-inch barrel made from chrome-moly steel and using a 1:7 rate of twist. The barrel is surrounded by the company's MFR XS 10.0 rail with seven different M-LOK attachment points. The MFR handguard is designed to reduce weight while still allowing the short barrel to cool during firing.

The rifle features a carbine-length gas system and includes an uninterrupted Picatinny rail along the top of the receiver and handguard. Other features include the Daniel Defense Buttstock, Pistol grip and improved flash suppressor.

The overall length of the new Daniel Defense V7S is 26.75 inches, and the total weight is 5.8 pounds. The rifle is currently only available with a black finish, and the suggested retail price is $1,679.
