The HST Micro line of ammunition from Federal Premium expanded in 2017 with the addition of the company's .38 Spl. +P load for concealed carry revolvers.

The unique-looking ammunition features a deeply seated 130-grain bullet that is designed to eliminate extra air space in the cartridge case in order to provide shooters with the most consistent velocities. By seating the bullet deeper, Federal found that it was able to eliminate inconsistencies in powder burn rates.

The new load features Federal's proven HST bullet design with an expanded diameter and improved weight retention in order to provide optimum penetration in personal-defense situations. The load also uses clean-burning low-flash propellants for use in low-light encounters.

The 38 Spl. +P HST Micro load retails at a suggested price of $30.95.
