Blackhawk TecGrip Holsters

Blackhawk recently introduced the TecGrip line of holsters, which employs a proprietary, grippy outer layer that anchors the holster wherever it is placed. Designed to be used in a pocket or waistband, the TecGrip line eliminates a belt clip for IWB carry for greater options in carry positions. When used in a pocket, the TecGrip lining keeps the holster steady, properly positioned and actually in the pocket when the firearm is drawn.

Whether to carry a medium-size handgun IWB without a belt clip is a personal decision. Personally, we're of the belt-and-suspenders approach of actually tethering the holster to the belt to prevent accidental removal, although Blackhawk claims the TecGrip material will keep the holster and firearm in position. When used with a small semi-auto in a pocket, however, the results speak for themselves. The holster stays in the pocket, period.

Whichever model you choose, the interior is lined with nylon to ensure a smooth draw. Laminate provides a moisture barrier to protect your firearm's finish when carried next to the body. Owing to the nature of the construction, all TecGrip holsters are ambidextrous.

MSRP ranges from $18.95 for pocket models to $24.95 for IWB. Nine "one size fits many" options are available from snub-nose revolvers to Government model 1911s.
