There's just something about a good pocketknife, there really is. Something about the way a good knife sits in the hand, clips to a pocket and deploys quickly when needed reminds us just what tool-using animals we really are. Normally, though, quality tools come at a significant price, and when that tool is something like a pocketknife that can easily be lent or lost, we can be reluctant to invest too heavily in top-tier devices.

First Tactical has a line of affordable pocketknives that are anything but cheap. We've covered a few previously, but the Copperhead is the most "traditional" design: spear point, liner lock and 3-inch blade. There's also a few upgraded features, like the G10 scales and the "thumb bridge" opening system that provides a larger area available for single-handed opening.

The real surprise, though, is in the MSRP. For $49.99, the First Tactical Copperhead is a great bargain. A tanto-design blade is also available.
