After getting numerous requests for a first-focal-plane riflescope, Lucid Optics embarked on a plan to offer its first-ever FFP scope. New for 2017, the Lucid MLX Riflescope fulfills that request.

The new MLX Riflescope features a 4.5-18x magnification range and is built on a one-piece 30 mm aluminum tube with almost six inches of mounting space. The optic features a MIL-based reticle with 10 MILs of holdover points inside the reticle. Of course, with a FFP reticle, the MIL measurements inside of the reticle are accurate at any magnification value, unlike a second focal plane, which is usually only accurate on the highest power setting. The reticle is etched glass.

Windage and elevation turrets come with 1/10 MIL adjustments with audible click increments. The turrets feature lift adjustments, which allow the user to simply pull the turret up and twist in order to adjust windage and elevations. Pushing down on the turret will lock in the adjustment. After zeroing the optic, pulling the turret to its highest position will allow shooters to rezero the turrets. Total adjustment range on windage and elevation is 20 MILs.

The MLX Riflescope features a 44 mm objective lens and a 34 mm ocular lens with a 3.1-3.6-inch eye relief. The scope is waterproof, fogproof and shockproof. The suggested retail price on the MLX Riflescope is $499.
