Magnum Research is following up the introduction of the Desert Eagle L5 in .357 Mag. with the launch of the .44 Mag. version in 2017. In addition, the Desert Eagle L6 line will feature stainless steel slides and barrels in both .44 Mag. and .357 Mag. in addition to the .50 AE variant introduced in 2015.

The Desert Eagle L5 features a 5-inch barrel and a hard-coat anodized aluminum frame with a carbon-steel frame and slide, putting the total weight of the gun at under 50 ounces, which makes the handgun New York State compliant. The pistol also features Hogue grips with rubber finger grooves and the company's integral muzzle brake. Total length is 9.75 inches with a height of 6.25 inches and a width of 1.25 inches. Magazine capacity in .44 Mag. is eight rounds. Suggested retail price on the L5 in .44 Mag. is $1,790.
