Taurus is now under new management that is taking the company in the right direction. However, there are lingering issues which have to be dealt with, specifically a class-action lawsuit concerning accidental discharges by certain Taurus models (the PT-111 Millennium G2 is not among them). Currently, a proposed settlement is on the table.

The suit alleges that PT-111 Millennium (again, not the G2), PT-132 Millennium, PT-138 Millennium, PT-140 Millennium, PT-145 Millennium, PT-745 Millennium, PT-609, PT-640 and PT-24/7 pistols may fire with the safety on or if dropped or bumped. If you own one of the listed handguns, the proposed settlement would allow you to go to Taurus’ website for a claim form and instructions for returning your pistol and receiving up to $200.

Go to taursuscartersettlement.com, call (844) 528-0180 or write to Carter v. Forjas Taurus, c/o Heffler Claims Group, P.O. Box 230, Philadelphia, PA 19107-0230 for additional information as well as updates.
