Our Handgun of the year is the Ruger SR45, a polymer-frame handgun chambered in .45 ACP and featuring the ergonomics of the company's popular SR series.

When you think of a polymer-frame handgun chambered in .45 ACP, you probably wince and the implied recoil. With the Ruger SR45, however, that concern is eliminated. It is incredibly easy to control and despite its size, quite comfortable to carry. Reliable, practical and affordable, the SR45 was an obvious choice for our handgun of the year.
