Barnes specifically engineered this bullet for the .300 AAC Blackout. It's a popular bullet choice, and DoubleTap loads it as well. The bullet resembles a Tipped Triple-Shock, only with a much larger polymer tip, which had a tendency to come off during cycling in the JP PSC-11. On one occasion the tip became lodged in the action, and the rifle had to be disassembled. The Barnes Vor-Tx load was faster, more accurate and delivered more consistent velocities than the DoubleTap offering. However, the DoubleTap load cycled both rifles more reliably. Terminal performance was classic Triple-Shock, with wide expansion, good penetration and 100-percent weight retention.
