This is a good follow-up to last week's Wilson Combat 9 mm 115-grain ammo test. Since Wilson Combat utilizes the same type bullet in both the 115-and 124-grain loads, they make for a good comparison. However, there is something that needs to be kept in mind: Wilson Combat's 115-grain load is rated at 1,250 fps from a 5-inch barrel while the 124-grain load rates at 1,200 fps. Both were tested from a Springfield XD(M)3.8 with a 3.8-inch barrel and generated practically the same velocity. Out of a longer, 5-inch barrel, the increased velocity of the 115-grain load might give it a slight edge. In this test, both loads performed—for all practical purposes—identically.
