I've always been a fan of the lighter 9 mm loads, because velocity is the 9 mm's strong suit. At any rate, when using short-barrel 9 mm handguns, like the Diamondback DB9 or the SIG Sauer P290, you need to be cautious about the ammo you select. Short-barrel handguns rob velocity, and bullets need a certain amount of speed to expand. Remington's 9 mm 147-grain subsonic load is not a good choice for short-barrel handguns, as it will not expand at velocities less than 900 fps.
