Terminal Tuesday covered the standard-velocity Buffalo Bore .380 ACP load several months ago, but the company's +P load—one of the few +P offerings for this chambering—penetrates about an inch deeper and creates a much larger wound cavity. This is due to its higher velocity; 1,129 fps compared to 986 fps. SAAMI does not recognize +P .380 ACP loads, but Tim Sundles at Buffalo Bore told me he has tested the company's +P products in most every manufacturer's handguns and has seen no problems. This is potent ammo with noticeable recoil from super-compact .380s.
