HTC EVO Holster

When it comes to holsters for carry on a belt, there's a debate between the inside-the-waistband (IWB) and the outside-the-waistband (OWB) carry methods. Fans of IWB point out the greater concealability and security of having most of the pistol tucked inside (as well as the ability to completely conceal with so-called "tuckable" holsters). Fans of OWB like the greater accessibility and comfort (not to mention not needing pants a size or two larger to accommodate a holster).

The HTC (High Threat Concealment) EVO is one solution to appeal to both camps. With the turn of a screw (well, to be fair, several screws), the EVO converts from IWB to OWB (or vice versa) to cover both your deep concealment and training needs. A single clip on the outside of the thermoplastic (Boltaron) holster allows the EVO to be carried IWB, while two clips fasten to the inside for OWB. The EVO is adjustable for cant in either IWB or OWB guise.

It took a little bit of finesse and finagling to get the EVO configured for OWB, with various screws, washers and binding posts needed, but once the proper route for installation was followed it proved to be a cinch. Setting the EVO up for a forward cant was literally a matter of reversing the belt clip, and it carries quite comfortably in the 4-o'clock position. Drawing from the holster is accomplished quickly and cleanly, and retention can be adjusted to the individual's preference.

MSRP: $115. Available for numerous Glock and SIG Sauer pistols, with more manufacturer models planned.
