First Look: Buck Knives Sprint Series EDC Knives

New from Buck Knives is a new series of everyday-carry knives featuring a ball-bearing pivot system. The Sprint Series features a 3 1/8-inch blade with an overall closed length of 4 3/8 inches, making these lightweight, liner-lock flippers an excellent choice for everyday-carry use. This series includes Select and Pro versions, based on the price point of the and materials used in its construction.

Knives in the Sprint Select Series include the 840 Sprint Select, which was born from Buck Knives’ desire to create a modern and stylish knife which features advanced technology and is being sold at a competitive price point. The high-performance Sprint Select series are constructed using glass-filled-nylon handles which come in black, gray and green colors. Other features on the 840 Spring Select include a stonewash-finished, 420HC-steel blade and deep pocket-carry clip. The Buck Knives 840 Spring Select retails for $60.

The 841 Pro version Sprint knives integrates the same pivot system with an upgraded handle material and upgraded steel. The drop-point steel blade has added filework on the top and is built from advanced S30V steel, which provides excellent edge retention with high ductility and added corrosion resistance. Available with scales made using a Burlap Micarta or marbled carbon fiber, the Pro versions also feature a deep pocket carry clip in stainless steel and Cerakote-treated USMC red-coated stainless steel. The suggested retail price on the Pro versions range from $120-$180, depending on options selected.

The 842 Sprint OPS Pro is another upgrade version of the Sprint that uses the same ball-bearing technology as the other Sprint Series but has a slightly different drop-point blade and a broader tip. The knife features a blue-and-black G10 handle, along with a clip and blade coated with Cerakote Graphite Black, giving it a discreet low profile. The suggested retail price on the 842 Sprint OPS Pro is $150.

All knives in the Sprint Series line feature blades finished with Buck’s advanced Edge2x technology, which helps them stay sharp longer and make them easier to re-sharpen. For more information on the Sprint Series, visit buckknives.com.
