First Look: Galco Speed Master 2.0 Convertible Holster

Galco launched a redesigned model of its popular Speed Master holster in 2019, giving consumers an enhanced option loaded with many of the benefits and advantages learned by the company's holster designers through years of evolution and experience. The new Speed Master 2.0 belt holster, in particular, offers enhanced versatility in attachment options.

The Speed Master 2.0’s versatility derives from its included twin attachment methods – a paddle and an adjustable belt slot – that are quickly and easily interchangeable by the end user. A slot-head screwdriver is the only tool needed to swap one attachment for the other, giving the handgunner the choice of two carry methods: an easily mounted and removed paddle design or a stable and traditional belt slot. Removable spacers permit adjustment of the belt slot for belts from 1.25 inches through 1.75 inches, while the extremely secure paddle fits belts up to 1.75 inches wide.

Designed to fit semi-automatic pistols from more than 10 different manufacturers, the Galco Speed Master 2.0 convertible belt holster features an open-top design along with a generous cut at the trailing edge of the holster that allows users to obtain a solid, full firing grip before starting the draw stroke. The open-bottom design ensures that dirt and debris won't collect inside the rig, and a generous sight channel allows clearance for a range of aftermarket front-sight blades.

The holster body itself is constructed from hand-boned saddle leather, which gives the rig an attractive, durable finish, while both the belt and paddle attachments are molded from polymer. An adjustable retention screw located just below the trigger guard allows users to tune how tightly the holster retains its pistol under friction. The Galco Speed Master 2.0 holster is available in a right-hand configuration only and can be made with either black or tan leather. The suggested retail price on the holster is $86.
