First Tactical introduced its new line of watches in February 2017, rolling out a total of three watches in the collection.
The first watch launched in the collection was the Canyon Digital Compass, designed to handle rough environments while still maintaining an aesthetic appeal for more relaxed atmospheres. The watch features an oversized digital display with a "second hand" that counts down seconds for users who need to maintain a close eye on the clock.
Other features on the Canyon Digital Compass includes a utility strap that features a ruler that measures in centimeters and inches. The utility strap also features a complete guide to Morse Code for emergency communications. In addition, the watch also features a stealth mode that enables users to mute the watch for silent engagements.
The Canyon Digital Compass measures in with an 11-inch band. The watch display itself measures in at 2.4 inches in length, 2.1 inches in width and has a thickness of 0.6 inch. The watch features three different alarm settings and is waterproof up to 10 meters. The watch is available in black, coyote and OD green finishes and retails for $139.99.
The next watch in the First Tactical collection is the Fathom Stainless Steel Dive Watch, which is pressurized and is waterproof up to 200 meters. The watch features a stainless-steel bezel and a TPSiV band that includes a ruler in centimeters and inches, along with a Morse Code guide. The hands are also treated to illuminate the watch face in darkness.
“The idea in the design with this watch was to create something that was durable enough for search and rescue teams to use but nice enough to wear on a night out off-duty,” First Tactical Lead Designer Cory Nykoluk said. “We have created a durable watch that will work as hard as their wearers do and is durable enough to withstand any test in and out of the water.”
The Fathom Stainless Steel Dive Watch is available in black and titanium finishes and retails at a suggested price of $249.99.
The final watch in the First Tactical collection is the Ridgeline Carbon Field Watch, which is made from a lightweight carbon resin and features a medium-sized watch face designed to be durable and stylish. The watch uses a webbing band that is designed to withstand a number of different environments, and the watch face features illuminated hands for low-light visibility.
“With the Ridgeline, we really wanted to cut weight but not durability,” Nykoluk said. “The tactical market features so many watches that are incredibly bulky. With the Ridgeline, we were able to make a medium-sized watch that doesn’t sacrifice durability.”
The Ridgeline Carbon Field Watch is available in black with an OD green band or brushed steel with a black band and sells for $139.99.
