I Carry: CZ-USA P-10 C in a CrossBreed Freedom Carry Holster

Welcome to another episode of "I Carry," Shooting Illustrated's weekly video series covering the guns and gear needed to put together an ideal everyday-carry kit. Today, we have a CZ-USA P-10 C pistol in a CrossBreed Freedom Carry IWB holster. Rounding out the gear is a CrossBreed Tuckable IWB magazine carrier, a Browning Alpha Max flashlight, a Cold Steel Immortal folding knife and a Galco Gunleather SB3 Dress Belt.

The Gun: CZ USA P-10 C ($516)

There’s no doubt that the polymer-frame, striker-fired pistol design is the new hotness, further reinforced by the introduction of the CZ P-10 C, CZ’s first entry into this area of the market. The company took its time developing a striker-fired polymer gun, ensuring that the ergonomics and trigger pull met the high expectations consumers have for CZ’s guns.

The company’s grip angle is designed to fit a range of hand sizes, thanks to a generous beavertail, gentle palm swell and three interchangeable backstraps. The gun also features a clean, short-reset trigger that breaks between 4.5-5 pounds. The P-10 C uses the same magazines as the company’s popular P-07, ensuring that users can obtain a ready supply of quality magazines for their pistol.

The Holster: CrossBreed Freedom Carry IWB Holster ($64.50)

I chose to carry the P-10 C in CrossBreed’s Freedom Carry IWB holster, which is one of the company’s most versatile rigs, allowing for appendix, strong-side and cross-draw carry. The Freedom Carry features a form-fitted Kydex outer shell backed by comfortable cowhide that’s sized right to ensure protection against the skin without feeling cumbersome.

The holster attaches to the belt through the use of a single metal belt clip, which provides extra versatility in terms of choosing a comfortable carry spot inside the waistband. The clip allows for cant adjustment to ensure an ideal draw angle.

The Mag Carrier: CrossBreed Tuckable IWB Mag Carrier ($45.50)

Carrying a spare magazine for the P-10 C is easy, thanks to CrossBreed’s Tuckable IWB Mag Carrier. Like the company’s holster, a form-fitted Kydex outer shell secures the magazine in place, while a generous-sized cowhide backer provides for comfortable carry. The carrier also attaches to the belt with the same metal belt clip used on the company’s Freedom Carry holster.

The Flashlight: Browning Alpha Max ($54.99)

For an everyday-carry light, the Browning Alpha Max is a great choice, thanks to its small, compact size and the fact that it runs on a readily available AA battery. The light is totally waterproof, weighs only 2.4 ounces and provides a maximum output of 155 lumens. Three modes are offered, including a green-light setting that allows users to preserve their night vision, if necessary.

The Knife: Cold Steel Immortal ($199.99)

The Cold Steel Immortal might be a little larger than most everyday-carry folders, but this blade is ready for anything, thanks to its textured G10 handles that provide a secure grip and an impressive Gladius-style blade that measures 4 inches long. The blade opens easily with the thumb plate, and it locks into place securely with the use of Cold Steel’s innovative Tri-Ad lock system.

The Belt: Galco Gunleather SB3 Dress Belt ($92.95)

All of this gear is secured to the waist thanks to Galco’s SB3 Dress Belt, which provides owners with a purpose-built gun belt that fits well with business attire. The belt measures 1.5 inches wide and features multiple layers of premium leather for a solid holster mount.
