The Griptilian line from Benchmade features the widest range of options of any one product family in the company's entire lineup. Consumers can choose from different blade shapes, sizes and colors, as well as different handle finishes.

The example Shooting Illustrated received featured a plain blade edge with a satin finish. The blade itself is made from CPM-20CV steel and features a drop-point blade style. The handle is made from G10 material and is finished in a dark gray with blue accents.

Consumers also have the option of choosing a serrated blade with a coated finish made from either 154CM or N680 steel and can choose a drop-point-, tanto- or sheepsfoot-style blade. Nylon is also available as a handle material, and handle color options come in black, olive drab, sand, orange and gray. Those looking for the next level of customization can also add custom lasermarking for $5-25.

The Benchmade Griptilian features a manual-open mechanism with a thumb stud. The blade is 3.45 inches long with a thickness of .115 inch. Total open length is 8.07 inches, while the folded length is 4.62 inches. The handle at its thickest point measures .64 inch. Depending on the style of blade chosen, total weight ranges from 3.79 ounces to 3.89 ounces.

Other features include a standard clip with reversible tip-up carry and a lanyard hole. The suggested retail price on the Benchmade Griptilian is $210.
