Most AK and SKS rifles come to our shores with what I like to call communist wood for stocks and fore-ends. I call it such because they all look the same and are equally unimpressive in terms of looks. The standard stocks also don't offer much in the way of comfort. TAPCO seems to have solved this problem with its new line of Timbersmith stocks. These wooden models are available in different styles and colors for the AK and SKS and every unit is made from gorgeous lumber. Integral rubber buttpads add comfort, but you'll really drive your buddies nuts when they see your SKS looks better than their $1,000 safari rifle.
