This bonded bullet was specifically designed to meet the rigid FBI testing requirements where bullets are subjected to expansion and penetration tests after passing through a variety of intermediate barriers. Typical of bullets that do well in the FBI tests, the 180-grain PDX1 retained a high percentage of weight. Expansion like this, of more than 2-times a bullet's unfired diameter, is rare in defensive handgun ammunition. Notice how the bullets that expanded wide and flat often turn on their sides as they penetrate.
